Moana

Every year or so, one enchanting children’s film becomes a full-stop phenomenon. Parents love the film, kids love to sing the film’s songs (non-stop!), and even adults without kids manage excuses to see it in the theater. The latest film to fit this bill? Disney’s Moana. The sweet adventure film retold a classic Hawaiian myth with help from superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Broadway titan Lin-Manuel Miranda, and lovely newcomer Auli’i Cravalho.

So when is the modern animated classic scheduled to hit Netflix?

June 20, 2017

Yup, that’s right. Thanks to a lucrative deal Netflix struck with Disney not too long ago, every new “Disney” film from January 1, 2016, and onwards will eventually find its way onto the service — including Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm favorites. Finding Dory, Captain America: Civil War, and The Jungle Book are recent examples of how this deal shakes out, and Moana will be the next big get.

However, if you can’t wait until June 20 to stream the film, you have options! Moana is already available to buy or rent on VOD. That means you’ll have to throw additional money down, but depending on your level of patience, it may be worth it. Or, you can just watch clips from the film on repeat on YouTube until it comes to Netflix in a few weeks.
